WEB VIEWING

My referring physicians are saying that they are not receiving their images automatically.  What could be the issue?

Our referring physician software, WebVue, is designed to automatically send (or “push”) images to the referring physician as soon as they are available.  In order for this to happen, the referring physician's computer must be on and connected to the internet.

If the referring physician has turned his/her computer off or if it is not connected to the internet, the images will be queued for sending when the connection is finally established.

The advantage of our system is that the referring physician will rarely need to use the DICOM query/retrieve function to get his/her images.  The images will already be on his/her computer.  Depending on the speed of his/her incoming line, referring physicians might have to wait a long time for images if they had to ask for them each time.

Also remember that all images are always on the archive.  The referring physician can query them at any time.

Here's another tip:   Check the Catella WebServer to confirm that it is active and connected to the internet.

Here's another tip:   Check the referring physician's IP address.  The Catella WebServer needs a static address.

Here's another tip:  Names of referring physicians must be identical when sending to the same location.  This safety feature assures that images are sent only to registered users with the proper security.  We see misspellings most often where names are entered at the modality rather than through the scheduling function of a RIS.

Give me the quick version of installing WebVue.

Before installing the software, we need to make up a custom diskette for that particular doctor.  For that, we need the doctor's name (as spelled on the RIS) and preferred password.  Contact your system administrator to get this diskette.

Put the CD in the drive and it will automatically start the installation process.  If it doesn't, use the Windows Explorer to start the setup.exe file from the Disk1 folder on the CD.  Before running the Catella system for the first time, put the custom diskette into the disk drive.  Then, when Catella starts, it will get the custom information for that doctor and install it on the computer.

To test, get into the worklist and query for patients from that doctor.  If you get “Failed”, there is a problem.  If you get some patients or “None Found,” communication is working properly and when patients are ready, their images will be automatically shipped to the Catella system (if it is logged on).
