There's a lot of talk about digital imaging. It's no longer a debate about whether you should move away from film or if the proper digital imaging technology exists, but rather when and how. If you wait, will prices drop significantly? If you wait, will there be a new breakthrough in technology?
Until now the big question was how you could store, distribute, and share these images with patients and referring dentists in an organized and cost-effective manner. Also important was how such a system could be installed and how personnel could be trained quickly and without major disruption to your center.
The Answer is Catella.®
Catella-LAB is our answer for a cost-effective, easily maintained PACS for dental labs. Catella-LAB takes all of the key elements of our large medical PACS solutions and packages them in a manageable size for dental imaging centers. You need the same functionality of a hospital-based digital network, but not the complexity or the cost. More important, you need to capture a variety of types of images, convert them to digital files and organize them for distribution to your clients.

Here is a list of Catella-LAB’s key features:
Image Gateway - central point for the receipt and distribution of all of your digital images. You can connect up to 10 DICOM compliant devices to MIDAS.
Archive - A highly redundant and safe method for storing your images. MIDAS can hold the equivalent of 25,000 14”x17” sheets of x-ray film. That's years of storage for a typical small practice.
CD Burner - A manual method to make CD's with client images for distribution to patients and other medical professionals. These CD's have an advanced viewing program that self-starts when the CD is inserted into a PC.
Workstation - Our MIDAS workstation includes a high resolution color flat panel monitor (medical grade monochrome monitor is available at an additional charge). Our diagnostic software includes all the imaging tools you need. (window, level, zoom, pan, annotation, measure length, angle, Hounsfeld units, invert, rotate and more.)
LAN Viewing - Five software licenses for LAN viewing within your facility. This allows you to use existing PC's or WIFI-enabled tablet PC's to display images in your surgery areas or patient exam rooms.
Backup - Choose between two methods of backing up the same images that are stored in the Archive. You can configure MIDAS with either the included removable hard drive backup system or use our optional off-site storage center (6 months). Both systems can be configured to run automatically.
Connectivity - to CR and/or DR technology.
