Overview

EYE-Q MATRIX

The number of available image, video and information signals in the modern operating theater is constantly growing . Until now additional devices and complex cable management systems have been required to flexibly distribute these signals to viewing and recording devices. However, these devices, such as signal converters and switches, are typically developed for other industries, such as broadcasting, and only partly meet the requirements of the medical industry.

The Design

The EYE-Q MATRIX is a simple-to-use device that centralizes all image signals for the operating theater. Using the EYE-Q MATRIX all inputs come to one "box" and all signals go to each display on a single cable.

  • The EYE-Q Matrix processes any signal type from both typical clinic applications (HIS, RIS) and medical sources (endoscopy images, PACS).

  • Multiple input signals can be directed to a display. The resolution on the signal output is scalable up to 1920 x 1200 pixels.

  • Thanks to our multi-picture function, different image sources can be combined into one display (either next to each other (PoP) or within each other (PiP)). Image position and size are adjustable.

  • Wiring from inputs go to only one device (EYE-Q MATRIX) making equipment changes fast and easy.

  • Wiring to displays need never be changed as all data is carried from EYE-Q MATRIX on a single cable.

Inputs

The Eye-Q Matrix provides the following inputs: VGA, DVI-D, HDMI 1.3a, SDI (HDSDI with 3G), S-Video, FBAS, YPbPr, RGBS

Six EYE-Q MATRIX modules built into a 19-inch rack

Outputs

There is space for up to 6 EYE-Q Matrix modules in a 19-inch rack mounting (7 HE). Add more racks as needed.

All input signals are transferred to the display devices via a single output signal. This saves costs and simplifies signal management. The DVI output signal can be directed to the display devices using all conventional transfer types, e.g., DVI cable, LWL cable or wirelessly. In the future, there will also be an option to use the HDSDI output signal instead of DVI.
